Antique Redware Pie Plate
This 9.25" pie plate was found at an estate sale in rural southeast Pa. It dates to the mid 1800's. The condition is quite good. There are a few shallow rim chips that are absolutely worn down and smooth. The interior has some small "pits". There is a pottery "blob" which can be seen at about the 12 o'clock position; since it protrudes, has the glaze worn off. The rim measures just over .5" wide and the plate weighs just under 2 lb. Great primitive larger redware pie plate for your collection!
