Amine Pottery Reproduction Butter Churn
This is a modern reproduction of a butter churn that would have been in use prior to and just after the 1900's. This looks to be a three gallon churn to me as it stands 13 5/8" in height, and at the widest point of the body is 8" in diameter. The solid wood plunger that goes up and down in the cream to turn it to butter is 24" in height. Even the handles on this piece were made to look like the old stoneware butter crocks of long ago. This lovely decor piece, that could be used to make butter, has one small fleck of glaze off on the front as you look at the picture on the tip of one of the rose buds. The top has a chipped out piece that elongates where the plunger goes but doesn't detract from the charm of the piece to any great degree. This is a stamped signed piece on the bottom from the pottery. Enjoy!!
