ART DECO HINDU FIGURINE D H CHIPARUS STATUE SCULPTURE ART DECO HINDU FIGURE AFTER CHIPARUS Demetre H. Chiparus (1886-1947) This graceful figure is exquisitely hand painted. Dimetre Chiparus was originally born in Rumania and exhibited his works in high class galleries in Paris. His sculptures were based on the ballet and the theatre. His statues were always exquisitely detailed. Captured in motion a young Hindu Dancer, the full skirt flared out about her knees creating a vivid sense of movement. She wears a short bodice and belt adorned with patterns that repeat on her headdress. The position of her arms above her head frame her face that looks out with a penetrating gaze. Cast in designer resin with a muted aged hand painted finish and mounted on a faux marble base Approximate size 51cm x 21cm x 30.5cm Weight 3.2kg.
