c. 1910s sterling luggage tag by the Webster Co. of Attleboro, MA with a nice Arts & Crafts design.
On the front is the engraved "Mary Ewing, Greeley, CO."
I checked the census records and found a Mary Ewing, born in about 1830, who lived in Greeley for a number of years -- first as a wife and mother, then as the widowed head of household in 1900, when she listed her occupation as "Capitalist."
I saw another Mary Ewing in Greeley, born in 1910, but I think this belonged to the elder woman.
The tag is in very good condition and has an unusual clasp that makes it quite secure. The tag measures 1 1/4" long.

best match, antique,
THANKS to all my customers over the past 10+ years. Please e-mail with any questions. Or give me a call at:
_____________________________________
Here are my Terms of Sale.
I charge only what the U.S. Postal Service does, not some inflated amount -- usually the least expensive way: Media mail for books, First Class whenever possible instead of those ridiculous Priority Mail prices, which don't guarantee anything at all. I do not charge for "handling" (whatever THAT is), packaging, bubble wrap, tissue paper, driving to the Post Office, gasoline, or for the water I drink along the way.
MAILING SCHEDULE:
I wish I were a Best Buy with the manpower to send items the minute they're paid for, but this is a one-person operation, so I mail every couple of business days and if it's a week where everything is going swimmingly, sometimes more often. Thank you for understanding this.
CORRESPONDENCE:
I try to answer everyone's questions promptly, so if you don't hear from me, please try e-mailing directly instead of through ebay -- annemacrae58@sbcglobal.net. If you can't reach me through e-mail, call me at 203-888-3729 anytime.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
I love my international customers, so I'm sorry to do this, but on ALL overseas purchases over $50, I will have to charge Priority Int'l Shipping - and on all purchases selling for more than $75, insurance is required. This is for our mutual protection as various mail services can be erratic, and I don't want any of us to be disappointed if something goes awry. Thank you.
Enjoy your purchase!!
