On the front is the engraved "Mary Ewing, Greeley, CO." I checked the census records and found a Mary Ewing, born in about 1830, who lived in Greeley for a number of years -- first as a wife and mother, then as the widowed head of household in 1900, when she listed her occupation as "Capitalist." I saw another Mary Ewing in Greeley, born in 1910, but I think this belonged to the elder woman. The tag is in very good condition and has an unusual clasp that makes it quite secure. The tag measures 1 1/4" long.
