This is a heavy brass replica of a Medieval style shield/plaque together with two matching crossed swords to the rear. The shield has a beaten surface and is 38.5cm in diameter. It is decorated with a relief moulded design of heraldic lion rampant within a shield shaped plaque with, surrounding, a knight's visor and scrolls. Attached to the reverse are two crossed swords with heavy embossed brass handles. The length of the whole is 56cm. Likely to date from circa 1950/60s.
An excellent decorator's piece, would look super in an olde worlde Inn or mock Tudor/Baronial setting!
Condition: Excellent polished condition; I have removed the old lacquer and cleaned so it now really looks eye catching.
